Licor and Marihuana cocktails

Why not enjoy marijuana in a more refreshing way? Studies have shown that smoking is one of the least beneficial methods of consumption, both in terms of health and efficiency. Research suggests that the healthiest way to consume marijuana is through ingestion, whether by eating or drinking it. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of making marijuana liqueur and crafting delicious, refreshing cocktails for a unique and enjoyable experience.

What is a Cannabis Cocktail?

A marijuana cocktail is a drink infused with cannabis extracts or oils, which allows you to enjoy its effects in a more refreshing and fun format, as well as being perfect for those who don’t like to smoke. Through different preparation methods, such as the use of tinctures, oils or syrups, you can combine unique flavours and the characteristic effects of cannabis. Whether to relax, socialise or enjoy a different sensory experience, cannabis cocktails offer an innovative way to consume cannabis in a different way.

Marijuana liqueur recipe

In our marijuana recipes section you will find many recipes to mix the magic ingredient with food and also some drink recipes, such as hot chocolate with marijuana. But today’s recipe is the one that makes the most sense for your parties, read on and learn how to make marijuana cocktails with these two recipes that we propose.

Here is a summary of the necessary steps, and below you will find a more detailed explanation:

  • Decarboxylate the cannabis: Before you start, make sure to decarboxylate the cannabis to activate its psychoactive components.
  • Choose the ingredients: Use stems and small leftover flowers (20 g per litre) or dried flowers (5 g per litre) as you prefer.
  • Prepare the liqueur: Buy quality white spirit, remove a shot from the bottle to make room, and add the stems or flowers.
  • Leave to macerate: Cap the bottle and let it sit in a dark place for at least 48 hours. The longer it macerates, the more potent the liqueur will be.
  • Enjoy with caution: Use the liqueur in your cocktails, always remembering to moderate the dose as it can be very psychoactive and long lasting when ingested.

For the preparation of cocktails it is necessary to first decarboxylate the marijuana and then convert the marijuana into marijuana liquor, this is the best way to mix it into cocktails or to warm up the body from time to time.

It is very simple, to make marijuana liquor most people use the stems and the small flowers that are left on the stems, about 20 grams per litre of liquor used. Other people prefer to use flowers, in this case you will have to use a quarter of the weight, about 5 grams, and even so the effect you will get is likely to be much higher than with the stems.

We buy a bottle of white spirits, as neutral as possible and of the best possible quality, we uncork it and pour a shot, it is not necessary to drink it ;) it is only to leave a little space in the bottle to submerge stems or flowers.

Once submerged, cork the bottle again and leave it in a dark place for at least 48 hours. Once this time has passed, the liquor has already absorbed many of the plant’s components. If you leave it longer it will take up more each time but in 48 hours there is already a good percentage of them. If you are not in a hurry you can leave it to macerate for as long as you want.

And now we have marijuana liqueur to make our cocktails and surprise our friends, remember as always that if someone tries it they should be very careful with the doses, marijuana ingested can last for many hours and can be very psychoactive. It is better to take too little than too much, nobody wants to have a marijuana whitey.

Types of Marijuana Cocktails: With THC and Without THC

THC Cocktails

THC cocktails are drinks infused with psychoactive marijuana extracts or tinctures. These cocktails can offer an intense recreational experience, but it is important to be cautious with dosages due to the lingering effects of ingested THC. It is advisable to start with small amounts and work your way up.

CBD cocktails

For those seeking relaxation without psychoactive effects, CBD cocktails are an ideal choice. CBD does not produce a high, but offers calming and anti-inflammatory properties. You can infuse drinks with CBD oils or tinctures to enjoy a relaxing cocktail without altering your mind.

The great thing about this whole thing is that all cannabis cocktail recipes can be made with or without THC, just by selecting the herb you want first. Without further ado, let’s move on to the cannabis cocktail recipes.

The Role of Terpenes in Marijuana Cocktails

Terpenes play a key role in the creation of marijuana cocktails, as they are the compounds responsible for the unique aromas and flavours offered by each strain. Terpenes like limonene contribute refreshing citrus notes, while myrcene contributes more earthy and relaxing flavours. By combining different terpene profiles, you can not only improve the taste of your drink, but also influence the effects you will experience, enhancing relaxation or energy depending on your preference.

Mixing with Food and Drink

An innovative way to enjoy marijuana is by incorporating it into food and drink recipes. You can use THC or CBD tinctures in a wide variety of cocktails, from mojitos to margaritas, or even non-alcoholic drinks. You can also infuse sauces, dips or desserts such as brownies and biscuits with cannabis, creating a unique dining experience.

Remember to adjust the doses of THC or CBD in foods and beverages to avoid overloading the effects, especially if combined with other psychoactive sources.

Safety Tips When Preparing Marijuana Cocktails

  • Control the dose: Start with small amounts of THC or CBD, as the ingested effects are stronger and longer lasting than when smoking.
  • Avoid mixing with alcohol: Mixing cannabis and alcohol can intensify the psychoactive effects, so it is better to opt for non-alcoholic cocktails.
  • Label clearly: If you make several cocktails, be sure to label those containing THC to avoid confusion.
  • Consume in a controlled environment: Enjoy your cocktails in a safe and comfortable place, especially if it is your first time.
  • Know your limits: Everyone reacts differently to ingested marijuana, so pay attention to how you feel and adjust your dosage as needed.
