LED Lumatek VF

The Lumatek VF LED lighting system is a novelty from the renowned Lumatek brand of lighting systems. This type of lighting was designed for plants with low PPFD needs, such as seedlings, cuttings or other plants that do not need a lot of light. Available models, VF90W with three 30W LED bars and VF120W with 4 LED bars of 30W.

Vertical cultivation

One of the main innovations introduced by Lumatek with its VF models is the possibility of vertical growth, that is, trays stacked on top of each other with LED bars between them (for more information see the video). Vertical farming is mainly used in propagation factories, nurseries, plant transport containers and climatic chambers. It is the ideal way to grow and transport numerous plants in a small space.

Quality with low power consumption

Lumatek VF systems are very low power consumption, since we are talking about 90W and 120W systems. Still, they are capable of producing good amounts of PPF, with the VF90W offering 244 μmol/s and the VF120W producing 308 μmol/s. In relation to efficiency, the two systems offer a value of 2.4 μmol/J. The spectrum of this system is more oriented to the vegetative phase of the crop and features 4000K white and 3000K warm white diodes.

New coating technology

Lumatek VF LEDs feature the new coating and protection technology developed by Lumatek, the Clear Glue Protection. This coating technology protects the LED diodes, prolonging their lifetime and protecting them from corrosion, while maintaining a light transmission of 99%, i.e. they hardly lose any illumination capacity. In addition, it guarantees IP65 protection against water and dust.

VF650W Controller

Lumatek VF systems require a 650W controller to operate, which is sold separately. This controller can operate up to 7 units of the VF90W system or 5 units of the VF120W. The system can also be dimmed with a 0-10V dimmer (sold separately) or directly control the entire system (no dimmer or VF650W required) with Lumatek's Digital Panel Plus 2.0, which performs the functions of both of the above.
